COLLISION DAMAGE REDUCING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a collision damage reducing apparatus capable of reliably mitigating the collision energy with an object behind a vehicle. SOLUTION: The collision damage reducing apparatus for reducing the collision damage on one's own vehicle C comprises an airbag deployment unit 2 for deploying an airbag A provided in a trunk T of the own vehicle C when one's own vehicle is collided with other object, and a luggage release unit 3 for releasing a luggage L in the trunk T outside the trunk T when the airbag A is deployed by the airbag deployment unit 2. In this constitution, even when the luggage L is stored in the trunk T, the luggage L is released outside the trunk T, and deployment of the airbag A is not prevented by the presence of the luggage L. As a result, the airbag A provided in the trunk T can be sufficiently deployed, and the energy of the collision with the object behind one's own vehicle C can be reliably mitigated.
