PIPE JOINT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pipe joint which, including a cylindrical packing made of a fluorine-based resin properly in heat resistance and chlorine water resistance, is superior in heat resistance and chlorine water resistance. SOLUTION: The pipe joint includes a pipe connection part, having an inner cylindrical part which is inserted inside the pipe end of a pipe to be connected, and the outer cylindrical part which surrounds the outside of the pipe end. The inner cylindrical part has a packing engaging groove on its outside circumferential surface and a cylindrical packing, which is made to contact the inner wall surface of the pipe watertight by the insertion of the inner cylindrical part into the pipe end and is fitted to the outside of the inner cylindrical part at the packing engagement groove. In this pipe joint, the packing engagement groove is of a two-step groove structure, having a deep groove at the tip end side of the inner cylindrical part and a shallow groove on the base side of the inner cylindrical part. The cylindrical packing is formed of fluorine-based rubber and is glued only on the bottom surface of the deep groove. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
