Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metallocene catalyst which is an olefin polymerization catalyst with high catalytic activity (polymerization activity) and is capable of achieving an olefin polymer at low cost with high production efficiency, and an olefin polymerization method using the same. SOLUTION: The olefin polymerization catalyst comprises components [A], [B], [C] and [D] as catalytic components: component [A] is a transition metal compound having a conjugated five-membered ring ligand, provided that the transition metal belongs to group IV of the periodic table; component [B] is a solid component containing at least one chosen from: (b-1) a particulate carrier carrying an ionic compound or a Lewis acid capable of reacting with the component [A] so as to convert it into a cation; (b-2) solid acid particulates; and (b-3) an ion-exchanging layered compound; component [C] is an organosilicon compound having a carbon-carbon unsaturated bond; and component [D] is an organic aluminum compound.
