Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a machine and a method for continuously casting molten metal, which prevent adhesion of nonmetallic inclusions to the inside of a continuous casting nozzle. SOLUTION: A sliding nozzle 1 having two movable plates (3a, 3b) oscillating along fixed plates 2 is used. Among the portions in openings 4 of the fixed plates 2, portions which are not covered with the two movable plates 3, become a runner 5 through which molten metal passes. The position of the runner in the openings of the fixed plates is oscillated by oscillating the two movable plates 3. Thereby, the flow of the molten metal in a cylindrical inner hole 16 is periodically moved from one end to the other end of the cylindrical inner hole 16, so that the portion of the flow where the flow rate of the molten metal is constantly kept low becomes inexistent.
