Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dispersion of nanosize fine particles of a metal oxide causing less coagulation and being capable of retaining transparency with time at room temperature, and to provide a method of manufacturing the dispersion of fine particles of the metal oxide capable of manufacturing the dispersion efficiently and inexpensively. SOLUTION: In the method of manufacturing the dispersion of fine particles of the metal oxide, a metal alkoxide solution containing at least one metal alkoxide and at least one acidic compound is added to a solvent containing at least one acidic compound. Preferably, a temperature of the solvent containing at least one acidic compound is ≥30°C when the metal alkoxide solution is added thereto, and the acidic composition is hydrochloric, nitric, or acetic acid.
