COMMUNICATION APPARATUS AT SUBSCRIBER HOME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ONU (Optical Network Unit) which can avoid an influence to another transmission line even when an improper connection to a system which should not be connected originally is performed. SOLUTION: An MC-ONU 270 is an ONU set on a subscriber home side. The MC-ONU 270 has a receiving portion 10 receiving a signal transmitted from an OLT 330 whose link has not been established and set on a carrier side, a determining portion 12 determining the OLT 330 to be an opposing device of a point-to-point communication based on the reception of only idle signals within a predetermined period, and a transmitting portion 16 starting the transmission of the signal from the subscriber home side corresponding to the OLT 330 based on the determination of the OLT 330 being the opposed device of the point-to-point communication by the determining portion 12.
