PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct thickness deviation of a belt without shortening a life of a device unnecessarily. SOLUTION: A belt driving control device includes: an endless belt looped over a plurality of supporting rotating bodies; a motor supplying rotational driving force to one of the supporting rotating bodies; a control controller section controlling drive of the motor; and a phase-amplitude calculation section detecting a periodical thickness deviation of the endless belt in the circumferential direction. The phase-amplitude calculation section performs data sampling for detection of the thickness deviation simultaneously with rotation operation of the belt, and the control controller section drives the motor such that the thickness deviation detected by a detection means is canceled out, and drives the belt to travel one rotation upon detecting a predetermined condition to carry out the data sampling for one rotation at such time when restoring from an energy saving mode or when restoring from an abnormality occurring state, for example, by the predetermined number of times (steps S502 to S511).
