Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress deterioration in display quality in a liquid crystal display device employing an in-plane switching type using a metallic black matrix. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal device (100) has a plurality of pixels (70), each pixel having a liquid crystal layer (50) held between a first substrate (10) and a second substrate (20) and containing liquid crystal molecules (50a) that are driven by an electric field applied therebetween, a first electrode (9a) manufactured on the first substrate, and a second electrode (11) manufactured on the first substrate and holding an insulating layer (12) between the second electrode and the first electrode. In each pixel, a reflective display region (72) for reflective display and a transmissive display region (71) for transmissive display are disposed.
