Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tire which hardly cause a puncture, a flaw, and a crack as compared with a conventional tire. SOLUTION: A carcass for a pneumatic tire includes a first annular bead 12, a second annular bead 12, a first continuous radial ply 20, a second continuous radial ply 21, and a third discontinuous radial ply 36. The third ply 36 includes a first portion and a second portion which is separated and different from the first portion. The first portion extends from a position close to one shoulder 30 of the second ply 21 to a position close to the first annular bead 12, and the second portion extends from the other shoulder of the second ply 21 to a position close to the second annular bead 12.
