Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ion generating device can stably generate positive and negative ions and restrict generation of ozone. SOLUTION: The ion generating device is structured of a discharge electrode 2, a high-frequency and high-voltage generating device 3 and a high-voltage cable 4. The discharge electrode 2 is structured of one or more conductive needle-like electrode 6 and a conductive ground electrode 7 provided opposite to the needle-like electrode. High-frequency and high-voltage output of the high-frequency and high-voltage generating device 3 is applied to the needle-like electrode 6 of the discharge electrode 2, and corona discharge is generated in the discharge electrode 6 to generate positive and negative air ions. The high-frequency and high-voltage generating device 3 includes a power source circuit 8, a high-frequency oscillating circuit 9, a boost transformer 10 and a timer circuit 11. The power source circuit 8 drives the high-frequency oscillating circuit 9 so that the high-frequency and high-voltage is generated in the boost transformer 10 by an output of the high-frequency oscillating circuit 9, and when applying this high-frequency and high-voltage to the needle-like electrode 6 of the discharge electrode 2 through the high-voltage cable, the timer circuit 11 periodically turns on/off output of the high-frequency oscillating circuit 9.
