SCREW GRINDING METHOD AND SCREW GRINDING MACHINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a screw grinding machine performing screw grinding with high accuracy. SOLUTION: This screw grinding machine 1 grinds the whole of a screw forming region K by successively grinding each of grinding regions K1 and K2. The screw grinding machine 1 includes a first measuring mechanism 45 for measuring an effective diameter or a slanting diameter, a second measuring mechanism 50 for measuring displacement amount in a workpiece W axis direction of a second measuring element and a control device 60, etc. In each of the measuring mechanisms 45 and 50, each of the measuring elements relatively moves to the second grinding region K2 side from a state in which each of the measuring elements abuts on a screw groove of the first grinding region K1 together with a grinding wheel 26. The control device 60 repeatedly relatively moves the grinding wheel 26 and the workpiece W till a measured value of the first grinding region K2 measured by the first measuring mechanism 45 becomes the same as a measured value of the first grinding region K1, and relatively moves the grinding wheel 26 and the workpiece W so that a measured value measured by the second measuring mechanism 50 may be constant, when grinding the second grinding region K2 after the completion of grinding of the first grinding region K1.
