SCREW GRINDING MACHINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a screw grinding machine highly accurately and efficiently performing screw grinding. SOLUTION: This screw grinding machine 1 relatively moves a grinding wheel 26 in relation to a workpiece W by moving a table 20 by a table feed mechanism 21 after positioning the grinding wheel 26 to have cutting amount by a wheel spindle stock feed mechanism 35. The screw grinding machine 1 includes a measuring mechanism 45 having a measuring element 46 capable of abutting on a screw groove on the other end side of the workpiece W, an advancing/retreating mechanism for advancing/retreating the measuring element 46 between a position abutting on the screw groove and a position away from the screw groove, and a control device 60. The measuring mechanism 45 measures thermal displacement amount of the workpiece W in an axis direction by detecting displacement of the measuring element 46. The control device 60 calculates the thermal displacement amount at each position in the workpiece axis direction based on the thermal displacement amount measured by the measuring mechanism 45 and relatively moves the workpiece W and the grinding wheel 26 by the table feed mechanism 21, while correcting a feed position in the workpiece W axis direction based on the calculated thermal displacement amount.
