PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an effect on a processing speed of a processing system by a data creation speed in a pre-stage of the processing system, do not cause a continuous processing delay, and make discontinuity unconscious in tone expression of image data inputted to the processing system, when the image data is inputted through a bus of a predetermined transfer speed to the processing system which continuously processes the image data after tone expression for every pixels by a predetermined amount. SOLUTION: The apparatus includes: a compression unit 23 which makes predetermined lower bits of respective colors of image data D redundant, includes information of the bit number in the image data D, compresses the image data given redundancy, and records it in a memory; an expansion unit 24 which acquires and expands the recorded image data through a bus 29 if the image data recorded in the RAM 31 reaches a predetermined value; and a screen processing unit 25 which replaces a predetermined number of lower bits in the expanded image data with non-redundant data, and input it to a PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) unit.
