Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a trigger coil capable of increasing the withstand voltage thereof, and a method of winding a coil. SOLUTION: This trigger coil 10 includes: a core 11; a secondary winding 13 directly wound around the core 11; a primary winding 14 wound around the outside of the secondary winding 13; and generates a trigger voltage to be applied to a trigger electrode 108 of a flashing arc tube 91. The secondary winding 13 is subjected to section winding to form the secondary winding into a structure having a plurality of winding parts 21-24, and spaces D1, D2, D3are formed between the winding parts 21-24 and adjacent winding parts 21-24.
