Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pass/fail determination method for the length in transfer direction of workpieces, which are cut workpieces transferred after being obtained by cutting a long material to a desired length with a cutting machine one after another, capable of performing pass/fail determination accurately, and moreover inexpensively and simply even if the transfer speed of their line changes. SOLUTION: After reference marks 2, 2 are formed near both the ends of a workpiece K, based on distance L1 at a downstream side, distance L2 at an upstream side, and distance L between the marks, by a mark forming means having precise NC control equipment, a downstream side still image and an upstream side still image successively received by a camera installed and fixed at a downstream side of a cutting machine are retrieved, both the extracted images are analyzed, distance (x) on the downstream side still image between the downstream side edge of the workpiece K and the marks 2 and distance (y) on the upstream side still image between the upstream side edge of the workpiece K and the marks 2 are calculated, and the distance (x) on the downstream side still image is compared with the distance L1 at a downstream side, and the distance (y) on the upstream side still image is compared with the distance L2 at an upstream side, thus determining pass/fail in a desired length X of the workpiece K.
