Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a catalyst with improved catalytic stability and initial selectivity by impregnating a carrier with a silver catalyst component and considering heating treatment to be carried out in a hydrated state in production of the catalyst for producing ethylene oxide. SOLUTION: A silver-type component-doped carrier is obtained by impregnating a carrier with a solution containing a silver-type component, and next this silver-type component-doped carrier is fired in an atmosphere containing steam and oxygen in an oxygen content thereof of not less than 0.2% by volume and not more than 7% by volume to the total.
