Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for accommodating two or more batteries inside an electronic device. SOLUTION: The system includes first mechanisms (16, 18) and the first mechanisms 16, 18 determine the charge state of a first battery (12) and a second battery (14) and provides a state signal, in response thereto. A second mechanism (18, 32, 46) provides an indication of the remaining battery service life, associated with the first battery (12) and/or the second battery (14), based on the state signal. The system further includes a third mechanism (36) for selectively employing the first battery (12) or the second battery (14) as a power source for the electronic device (10), based on the state signal of the third mechanism 36.
