STORAGE SUBSYSTEM AND DATA-VERIFYING METHOD USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To propose a storage subsystem which does not impair processing performance while ensuring high reliability. SOLUTION: The storage subsystem includes: a storage device including a hard disk drive; and a controller which controls access to the hard disk drive in response to a prescribed access command transmitted from a host computer. The storage subsystem stores data associated with writing requests in the hard disk drive, together with their parities, in response to the writing requests transmitted from the host computer, and verifies the correctness of the data stored in the hard disk drive independently of the responses to the writing requests, and then repairs data regarded as abnormal when abnormality exists in the data.
