Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spacer technology which makes possible a clearance to be formed between a piping and a heat insulating material by a simple work. SOLUTION: The spacer includes: a plurality of contact rods (11) mounted radially around and vertically to the circumferential surface of a piping (90); a strip (19) fixing the contact rods (11) and at the same time supporting the heat insulating material (40) at the piping (90) side surface thereof by revolving in an orbit spaced apart from the circumferential surface of the piping (90) on the side opposite to the piping (90) side of the contact rod (11); and strip fixers (15) fixing the strips (19) at the end of the contact rods (11) on the side opposite to the piping (90) side.
