METHOD OF PAINTING CAR BODY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a painting method capable of forming a coating film showing appearance similar to that of the coating film of an outer panel member of a car body over an inner plate member and a boundary member of the car body by a 2-coat 1-bake system or by a 3-coat 1-bake system, in the case that the outer panel member of the car body is painted by a 4-coat 1 bake system, and a car body painted by the method. SOLUTION: The painting method comprises painting an outer panel member 20 of a car body using a 4-coat 1-bake system, and is characterized by carrying out at least one of processes (A) and (B), namely the process (A) of applying a white intermediate coat paint (1) onto the inner plate member 22 and the boundary member 21 prior to applying the white intermediate coat paint 1 onto the outer panel member 20 and the process (B) of applying white base paint onto the inner panel member 22 and the boundary member 21 with respect to an inner plate member 22 and a boundary member 21 of the car body, subsequently carrying out a process of applying clear paint comprising a luster material equivalent to paint formulated by allowing the clear paint to contain a luster pigment, prior to applying the clear paint onto the outer panel member 20, and concurrently baking the multilayered coating film of the outer panel member 20 and the multilayered coating film of the inner panel member 22 and the boundary member 21.
