Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a joining structure and a joining method enabling first and second members to be easily assembled and disassembled and re-joined to each other and securing positioning accuracy when these members are re-joined. SOLUTION: When a cylinder head 2 supporting a camshaft 7 for intake and a cam cap 30 are joined to each other using bolts 15, the cam cap 30 is positioned relative to the cylinder head 2 using balls 40 disposed between a semi-spherical recess 23 formed at the cylinder head 2 and a semi-spherical recess 33 formed at the cam cap 30. The positioning of the cam cap 30 relative to the cylinder head 2 is performed by press-fitting the balls 40 into the recesses 23, 33 and thereby elastically deforming the recesses 23, 33.
