STRUCTURE OF SUPPORTING BRAKE PEDAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide structure of supporting a brake pedal improved in reliability of attachment of a rotary shaft of a pedal, and suppressing retreat of a pedal pad upon a front collision of a vehicle. SOLUTION: The structure 1 of supporting the brake pedal includes screw fastening structure 27 fixing the rotary shaft 23a of the pedal in a pedal bracket 4 by a screw fastening force via an intervening member 5. When the pedal bracket 4 is moved rearward relative to the intervening member 5 due to the front collision of the vehicle, and the fixation of the rotary shaft 23a of the pedal to the pedal bracket 4 by the screw fastening structure is released, the rotary shaft 23a of the pedal is moved rearward along a first guide passage 110 relative to the pedal bracket 4. Thus, the brake pedal 2 is rotated having the connecting point with an operational force transmitting member 3 as a fulcrum so that its upper end section is moved rearward relative to the pedal bracket 4 along with the rotary shaft 23a of the pedal.
