IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of reducing an image quality difference between print images of image data read by reading units different in reading characteristics. SOLUTION: When a calculating request included in a plotter process is received from a high-order controlling unit 702, an image processing controlling unit 703 calculates an image processing parameter to reduce an image quality difference between image data read by a scanner CCD 101 and a contact image sensor CIS 102 depending on a reading characteristic of a reading unit indicated by attached information (reading-unit information) received together with the calculating request and a writing characteristic of a printer 103. The calculated image processing parameter is stored in a RAM 603. Next, when a setting request included in the plotter process is received from the high-order controlling unit 702, the image processing controlling unit 703 requests setting of the image processing parameter held in the RAM 603 to middleware 109.
