Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To change the maximum lift amount of an engine valve using a simple configuration. SOLUTION: A variable mechanism 100 comprises a control shaft 110 parallel to a camshaft 11, an input arm 120 swingingly supported by the control shaft 110, a first swing pin 130 provided in parallel with the control shaft 110 to the input arm 120, and a swing link 140 swingingly supported by the first swing pin 130. The variable mechanism further comprises a second swing pin 150 provided in parallel with the control shaft 110 to the swing link 140 and displaceable relative to the first swing pin 130, a control arm 160B being an arm integrally turned about the control shaft 110 and having a restriction hole 165B through which the second swing pin 150 is inserted, an output arm 170 swingingly supported by both the second swing pin 150 and the control shaft 110 to lift an inlet valve, and an electric motor turning the control shaft 110.
