PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing apparatus which, when a failure occurs in an OS, can reliably save internal data and safely restore it. SOLUTION: An information processing apparatus 1 includes a first storage apparatus 13 used in a normal state and a second storage apparatus 3 used upon occurrence of a failure, and includes: an acquiring means configured to acquire data from the second storage apparatus 3 after data stored in the first storage apparatus 13 is copied to the second storage apparatus 3 and the first storage apparatus 13 is initialize when a failure has occurred; a determination means configured to determine whether or not the acquired data is data for changing system operation; and a copying means configured to copy the data to a storage destination in the first storage apparatus 13 before occurrence of the failure when determined that the data is not for changing the system operation, and to copy the data to a prescribed storage destination in the first storage apparatus 13 when determined that the data is for changing the system operation.
