METHOD OF MANUFACTURING RUBBER ROLL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems of a conventional method of cutting the ends of the elastic layer of a rubber roll, wherein since both ends of the shaft of the rubber roll are held, when one or both ends of the elastic layer are pressed against a cutter for cutting, a large pressing force to the cutter cannot be provided. SOLUTION: A first rotating roller, a second rotating roller, and a third rotating rolle, at least one of which is rotatingly driven, and the rotating axes of which are parallel to each other, and the cutter positioned near the ends of the first rotating roller and the second rotating roller and at equal distances from the first rotating roller and the second rotating roller, are prepared. The rubber roll is placed in such a manner that the peripheral surface of the elastic layer is brought into contact with the peripheral surfaces of the first rotating roller and the second rotating roller and one or both ends of the elastic layer are positioned above the cutter. While the peripheral surface of the elastic layer is pressed against the peripheral surface of the third rotating roller toward between the first rotating roller and the second rotating roller, an article to be formed is rotated, and one or both ends of the elastic layer is cut with the cutter.
