METHOD FOR FORMING MOLDED ARTICLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for forming a molded article having an outer or inner flange part by conducting transfer-molding with a crank press. SOLUTION: A press is used, which is provide with an upper punch group having a thin part forming upper punch 11 and a thick part forming upper punch 12 and with a lower punch group having a thin part forming lower punch 21 and a thick part forming lower punch 22. Before a step of compacting a raw material powder charged in a die cavity, upper and lower thin part forming punches are moved to move a raw material powder charged between the punches, and then the raw material powder is compacted with punches 11, 21 and punches 12, 22. A crank press is used for an essential part: the punches 11, 12 are connected to an upper punch plate via an upper punch driving means 12b, and the plate is connected to an upper ram of the crank press via an upper punch plate driving means 11b and the like. When descending the upper punch group by the upper ram, the punches 11, 12 are descended with the means 12b, 11b prior to descending of the upper ram, and then the raw material powder is moved.
