SOLUTION: The thermal head X1 includes a substrate 10, two or more heating elements H which are located on the substrate 10 and arranged in the arrow-head directions D1, D2, and the protective layer 50 covering the heating elements H. The protective layer 50 includes the first lug 51 which is located in the area on two or more heating elements H and prolonged in the arrow-head directions D1, D2 while projecting in the arrow-head direction D6.
