Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cell observation apparatus that is especially used for observing cells on cell-photographed images and enables to accurately grasp the growth states of the cells. SOLUTION: An extraction portion 42 extracts halo-generated cells in time-lapse images photographed with a microscope 11 and a camera 12 using transmitting light at prescribed time intervals. A pursuit portion 43 pursues cell divisions during observation on the basis of extraction results of the cells by the extraction portion 42. A renewal portion 44 adds the number of division-finished cells detected by the pursuit portion 43 to thereby renew the total number of the cells during the observation.
