MOTOR CONTROL APPARATUS AND CONTROL METHOD THEREFOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor control apparatus which has a plurality of power modules on one node and is able to vary the capacity, even after a set-up, and to provide a control method for the apparatus. SOLUTION: A motor controller which receives a positioning control command generated from a controller, generates a positioning command, by decoding the positioning control command and drives an electric motor, based on the positioning command and the electric motor position is equipped with a CPU module (3), which receives the positioning control command; replies own status information to the controller; generates a positioning command, by decoding the positioning control command; and transmits the positioning command to a power module, and a plurality of power modules (4, 5, 6) which receive the positioning command, drives the electric motor, based on the positioning command and the electric motor position and stores the chip ID of itself in a memory, wherein the CPU module reads the chip ID of one arbitrary axis of the power module, at turning on as the chip ID of servo control equipment and discriminates it from that at other node over a network.
