OPTICAL PICKUP DEVICE AND OPTICAL DISK UNIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize a movable section of an optical pickup device for driving an objective lens. SOLUTION: The optical pickup device includes a light source, a condensing member for condensing light from the light source, a holder on which the condensing member is mounted, a suspension for elastically supporting the holder, and a suspension supporting section for supporting the suspension. The holder has independent ring-like focus coil and tracking coil. The tracking coil is disposed between two focus coils. A virtual central axis for winding of the focus coils is set substantially in parallel with the tangential direction perpendicular to the focus direction and tracking direction. A virtual central axis for winding of the winding surface of the tracking coil is set substantially in parallel with the tracking direction, and the tracking coil and a tracking magnet are disposed along the tangential direction.
