Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a retardation film that is free from cracks, cloudiness and phase difference unevenness, and that is superior in a front contrast and the visibility from an oblique direction, when used in a liquid crystal display device. SOLUTION: The retardation film is constituted by laminating an A layer and B layer. The A layer and B layer are made of resins having birefringence of different signs, respectively. In a profile from 25 to 200°C of the logarithmic decrement of a pendulum using a rigid body pendulum measuring instrument, an inequality (1) Ta≤Tb is satisfied, where Ta is a peak top temperature of the profile measured from A layer side and Tb is a peak top temperature when measured from the B layer side. Also, the difference of the logarithmic decrement of the retardation film is ≤0.5 that is obtained by subtracting the logarithmic decrement of the B layer side at a rising peak temperature measured from the B layer side, from the logarithmic decrement, which is measured from the A layer side at the rising peak temperature measured from the B layer side.
