Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mainspring for a mechanism driven by a motor spring, especially for a timepiece, formed from a ribbon of metallic glass material. SOLUTION: The ribbon for forming the mainspring has a thickness of greater than 50 μm and is manufactured by a quenching wheel technique (called as planar flow casting) which is a technique to manufacture a metallic ribbon by quenching. Injection flow of molten metal is propelled onto a cold wheel which is rotating at high speed.
