LANE DEPARTURE WARNING DEVICE OF VEHICLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lane departure warning device of a vehicle capable of preventing erroneous determination based on the detection of another lane, even if a traveling border line of an one's own vehicle traveling lane is faint and cannot be recognized by an image pickup means. SOLUTION: When the traveling border lines on the one's own right and left both sides can be detected, a distance between the two traveling border lines detected in an S2 is calculated, and it is determined whether the distance is not less than 5m or not (S4). When the distance between the tow detected traveling border lines is not less than 5m, it is determined that the traveling border lines La, Lb of the one's own traveling lane LA are faint and not recognized and the traveling border lines of another lane is detected, or that the lane does not have a line such as a center line (S5), so that proceeding to S3, the actuation of an alarm is canceled. On the other hand, when the distance between the two detected traveling border lines is less than 5m, it is determined that the traveling border lines La, Lb are accurately shot and the lane is normally recognized (S6), so that lane departure determining control by a departure determining portion 15 is carried out (S7).
