SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device A includes a reflective liquid crystal panel 1 for displaying an image by reflecting the external light S of a specific wavelength incident from a surface 1e side, in which a shutter mechanism 2 capable of freely varying the backside 1d side of the reflective liquid crystal panel 1 to a chromatic color of provided. Then, for example, by the shutter mechanism 2, the backside 1d side of the reflective liquid crystal panel 1 is made black to cause the light S transmitted through the reflective liquid crystal panel 1 to be absorbed.
