The image processing apparatus includes: a time-sequential change arithmetic section 22 for calculating a time-sequential change amount for each of pixels of the image pickup signal; and a saturation adjusting section 25 for adjusting a saturation of the color image signal for each pixel on the basis of the time-sequential change amount, calculated by the arithmetic section, for each of pixels of the image pickup signal.
