MOVABLE OPTICAL FIBER CONNECTOR FOR UNDERWATER CAMERA SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a movable optical fiber connector for an underwater camera system, the connector being able to locate a terminal receiving hole for the optical fiber of an external strobe in a position optimum for guiding light or in a covering position where it is not exposed from the main body. SOLUTION: The movable optical fiber connector is provided for the underwater camera system 1 which guides light as a strobe control signal for an external strobe used in combination with the main body 2 via the optical fiber 30 one end of which faces a strobe light emission window 9 made in the main body 2. The connector includes: an annular rotating body 22 rotatably fitted on a housing lens barrel 7 adjacent to the strobe light emission window 9 of the main body 2; the terminal receiving hole 23 for mounting an incident light terminal of the optical fiber 30 projecting in part of the annular rotating body 22; and an operation piece 24 formed in other part of the annular rotating body 22 so as to be exposed from the front face of the main body 2. Rotating the operation piece 24 enables the terminal receiving hole 23 to be switched between the position where the hole faces the strobe light emission window 9 and the position where it is not exposed from the external face of the main body 2.
