SOLUTION: In the hydraulic shock absorber 11 which includes an outer cylinder 21 and an inner cylinder 27, it is configured so that a plurality of fitted portions 65, 66 capable of fitting with the inner cylinder 27 are provided on a rod guide 28 the outer peripheral portion of which fits in the outer cylinder 21 and through which a piston rod 15 is inserted into the inner peripheral portion and the fitted portion of selected one of the fitted portions 65, 66 fits with the inner cylinder 27.
