Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact strainer having excellent mounting work efficiency and suppressing circulation resistance while storing a filter having a wide filtration effective area and extending the service life. SOLUTION: This strainer 1 is so configured that liquid is led to flow from an inflow hole 46, passed through the filter 2, and led to flow out from the inside of an outflow pipe portion 31. The outflow pipe portion 31 is formed with a mounting flange portion 32 fastened by a fastening member and projecting in the radial direction of a connection 31a. A filter storage portion 33 to surround the solid portion 21 of the filter 2 is formed on the side of the outflow pipe portion 31. The filter storage portion 33 is provided with tool avoidance wall portions for avoiding interference with a tool T for the fastening member and channel enlargement wall portions for enlarging a channel in the filter storage portion 33.
