Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst for cleaning exhaust gas and a catalyst layer for cleaning exhaust gas of which the performance of cleaning exhaust gas can be improved by restraining Rh (rhodium) from being agglomerated on a carrier. SOLUTION: The catalyst for cleaning exhaust gas includes the catalyst layer 11 formed by depositing Rh on the carrier 10 by using a supporting material having zirconium oxide as a principal component. The ratio of the weight of the catalyst layer 11 to that of Rh is set within 250-500. The catalyst layer 11 is formed on the carrier 10, in the concrete, by mixing Rh, the supporting material, a binder and an additive to prepare slurry, immersing the carrier 10 in the prepared slurry, drying the slurry-deposited carrier and firing the resulting carrier.
