APPARATUS, METHOD, AND PROGRAM FOR CONTROLLING OCCUPANT CRASH PROTECTION DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus, method, and program for controlling an occupant crash protection device, capable of preventing malfunction of the occupant crash protection device during reversing a vehicle. SOLUTION: In the control device 10 for the occupant crash protection device that operates the occupant crash protection device, a deceleration detection means 22 for detecting deceleration to be applied in a traveling direction, a vehicle traveling direction detection means 24 for detecting advance or reverse, a threshold pattern selection means 26 for presetting two threshold patterns for advance and reverse regarding the speed change amount obtained by computation of deceleration and selecting the threshold pattern for advance and reverse based on the traveling direction obtained by the traveling direction detection means 24, and occupant crash protection device control means 28 for comparing the threshold pattern selected by the threshold pattern selection means 26 to the deceleration detected by the deceleration detection means 22 and the speed change amount obtained by computation of the detected deceleration to operate an occupant crash protection device 16 for rear end collision based on the compared result.
