METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR REMOVING VOLATILE ORGANIC COMPOUND

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for removing a volatile organic compound (VOC) excellent in efficiency in removing a volatile organic compound (VOC), and an apparatus for removing a volatile organic compound for use in the method. SOLUTION: The apparatus for removing a volatile organic compound includes an ultrasonic atomizer 25 for generating fog-like water particles by atomizing water or an aqueous solution, a first treatment chamber 21 for causing a gas to be treated containing a volatile organic compound to make contact with the fog-like water particles generated by the ultrasonic atomizer 25, and a second treatment chamber 31 equipped with a packing layer 34 packed with a microorganism support. The volatile organic compound is removed from the gas to be treated by causing the gas to be treated to make contact with the fog-like water particles generated by the ultrasonic atomizer 25 and subsequently sending them into the packing layer 34.
