INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS AND METHOD OF CONTROLLING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that designation of initial focus position reflecting intentions of UI developers A and B cannot be easily carried out, when a new UI widget having a UI widget developed by the UI developer A is created by the UI developer B. SOLUTION: A UI widget content 101 includes reference information by which its own UI widget refers to a child UI widget, and a description of an initial focus designation for designating which of its own UI widget and child UI widget will have initial focus. A UI widget hierarchy construction part 105 constructs a UI widget hierarchy by generating the own UI widget, and based on the reference information, generating a child UI widget associated with the own UI widget. An initial focus position decision part 106 follows the child UI widget according to the initial focus designation from a root of the UI widget hierarchy. When a UI widget for which a child UI widget is not designated in the corresponding reference information is retrieved, it is determined that this UI widget is the UI widget having the initial focus.
