VEHICULAR LANE DEPARTURE WARNING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicular lane departure warning apparatus that suppresses frequent lane departure warnings beyond a driver's need by disabling the output of lane departure warnings when an oncoming vehicle ahead of its own vehicle is on the lane where its own vehicle runs, on the assumption that if its own vehicle runs on a one-lane road, it passes the oncoming vehicle on the one lane, which is the lane where its own vehicle runs. SOLUTION: A lane LA where its own vehicle runs is recognized (S1). An oncoming vehicle CO ahead of its own vehicle CA is detected (S2). If the oncoming vehicle CO is on the lane LA where its own vehicle runs (S4: Yes) and if the lane width WL of the lane LA where its own vehicle runs is not larger than a set width WLc (S8: Yes), a lane departure warning output in S7 is disabled.
