ELECTRIC POWER STEERING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering device capable of significantly reducing an impact when a collision on an end pad occurs (when the electric power steering device reaches a steering limit). SOLUTION: The electric power steering device comprises an electric motor 12 capable of transmitting assistant torque to a steering system, a torque detection means 14 for detecting steering torque of a driver, and a control means 15 for controlling the drive of the electric motor 12 according to the steering torque detected by the torque detection means 14. When the torque of the electric motor 12 is detected, and the detected change ratio of the torque exceeds a predetermined value, the electric power steering device comprises a detection means 23 for detecting that steering angle reaches a steering limit. The control means 15 performs reverse assist control for controlling the drive of the electric motor 12 in the direction of reducing an absolute value of the steering angle when the detection means 23 detects that the steering angle reaches the steering limit.
