PRELIMINARY COATER, COATER, AND METHOD OF CLEANING PRELIMINARY COATER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a preliminary coater capable of stabilizing the initialization of a coating unit by coating a cleaning solution evenly onto the outer circumferential face of a roller to clean the whole outer circumferential face of the roller, and further capable of suppressing an increase in manufacturing cost, a coater, and a method of cleaning the preliminary coater. SOLUTION: The preliminary coater which initializes a coating unit by coating a roller with a coating liquid includes a cleaning liquid supplying device for supplying a cleaning liquid onto the outer circumferential face of the roller, the cleaning liquid supplying device having a cleaning liquid discharging part for discharging a cleaning liquid, a cleaning liquid storing part for storing a cleaning liquid over the longitudinal direction of the outer circumferential face of the roller, and a cleaning liquid coating part having an coating opening formed over the longitudinal direction of the outer circumferential face of the roller and facing the outer circumferential face of the roller, and is configured so that a cleaning liquid discharged from the cleaning solution discharging part is stored temporarily in the cleaning liquid storing part over the longitudinal direction of the outer circumferential face of the roller so as to discharge the cleaning liquid from the coating opening of the cleaning liquid coating part evenly throughout the longitudinal direction of the outer circumferential face of the roller.
