DISK DRIVING DEVICE AND METHOD FOR SPECIFYING FALSE DETECTION OF FALL IN DISK DRIVING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an HDD (Hard Disk Drive) from being falsely detected to be falling. SOLUTION: The HDD 1 specifies false detection of fall by a fall sensor 25, and prevents, when false detection occurs, subsequent false detection or a reduction in performance caused by the false detection by adjusting the sensitivity of the fall sensor 25. The false detection is determined based on the presence of external vibrations of a roughly constant frequency having small frequency variations. When there are external vibrations of a roughly constant frequency, a false fall detection by the fall sensor is highly likely to occur. Consequently, when there are external vibrations of a constant frequency under predetermined conditions, the HDD determines the false detection to adjust the sensitivity of the fall sensor.
