Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inhibitor of prostaglandin E2 production induced by a stimulant and/or ultraviolet radiation, and to provide a rough skin prophylactic for external use and a skin pigmentation prophylactic for external use, each containing the same. SOLUTION: This pharmaceutical contains as an active ingredient L-α-glycerophospho-D-myo-inositol (GPI) and/or a salt thereof. The compounds have a significant inhibition action against stimulant- or ultraviolet-induced increased production of PG (prostaglandin) E2in epidermal cells, that is, they are effective against a very early inflammatory response mechanism triggered by instantaneous intracellular calcium due to exposure to a stimulant or ultraviolet radiation in epidermal cells. Dermatological external preparations formulated therefrom exhibit the effect of preventing and ameliorating rough skin and the effect of preventing and ameliorating skin pigmentation, blotches, freckles, chloasmas, etc., induced by tanning.
