Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide nitrogen-doped mesoporous titanium dioxide in which nitrogen is doped in a high content and which exhibits high light absorption property in a wide wavelength region from the ultraviolet region to the visible light region. SOLUTION: A template containing silica and an alcohol solution of a titanium alkoxide are mixed, and then the resulting mixed liquid is sufficiently agitated under a condition that the temperature is kept at 80-100°C to substitute silica contained in the template with titanium dioxide. Thereafter, the mixed liquid is filtered, and after drying the obtained filter cake at a high temperature, the dried filter cake is fired in a nitrogen and oxygen atmosphere. At that time, the firing temperature is set to a temperature of 400-500°C. Thereby, a mesoporous titanium oxide in which the content of doped-nitrogen is lager one figure than that in a conventional example is obtained. Consequently, the nitrogen-doped mesoporous titanium dioxide exhibits high light absorption property in a wide wavelength region from the ultraviolet region to the visible light region, and the photocatalytic activity of the mesoporous titanium dioxide is drastically enhanced.
