SOLUTION: An expansion apparatus for portable terminals includes: a casing; an operation section that is provided in the casing and enables a user to perform operation input to the portable terminal; a portable terminal holding section for detachably and openably/closably holding the portable terminal to the casing; a connection section electrically connected to a connection section that the portable terminal has when the portable terminal holding section holds the portable terminal; and a battery that is stored in the casing and supplies a power supply to the portable terminal.
